Poet, translator, graduate of the Faculty of Slavic Languages ​​and Literature at the University of Berkeley. A student of Czesław Miłosz and co-translator of his poetry (when Miłosz received the Nobel Prize for literature, the selection of his poems translated by Vallee and Miłosz, Bells in Winter (The Ecco Press 1978), was one of the only two volumes of his poetry available in English). Winner of many scholarships and prizes in the field of literary translation, among others, Konstanty Jeleński Award and Alfred Jurzykowski Award. She lectured at the University of Berkeley, Claremont McKenna College, and Modesto Junior College. She wrote about the works of Czesław Miłosz, including Bear with a Cross: Primordial Tradition in the Work of Czesław Miłosz. She translated many works of Polish literature, among others, Diary by Witold Gombrowicz, Lucifer Unemployed by Aleksander Wat, essays by Adam Zagajewski and by Jan Kott. Author and co-author of many projects aimed at renewing the ecosystem of the Californian Valley, Vallee combines ecological passion with her work for regional cultural communities, utilizing the cognitive and aesthetic potential of literature.
